NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S-STEM)

80 to 100 awards every year, with an anticipated funding amount of $50,000,000 to $70,000,000 annually, for new and continuing activities

The number and size of awards will vary depending upon the scope of projects and availability of funds. Approximately $50-$70million is expected to be available annually, for new and continuing activities, pending availability of funds, to support approximately80-100 new S-STEM awardees. The award duration may be up to five years within the annual and overall budget limits.

The NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) program provides institutions with funds for student scholarships to encourage academically talented but financially needy students to enter the workforce following completion of an associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degree in fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

The S-STEM program emphasizes the importance of recruiting students to science and engineering disciplines, mentoring and supporting students through degree completion, and partnering with employers to facilitate student career placement in the STEM workforce.
